Project

Breakdown

  • Centrally located in Palm Beach County, adjacent to a retail center, residential development, and the Palm Beach County Airport
  • HVAC and electrical design meeting the owner's goal of an environmentally sensitive building per U.S. Green Building Council guidelines
  • Achieved Silver LEED Certification
  • Mechanical and electrical design for two 14,000 sf medical office buildings
  • Building C: designed to allow for future business/office occupancy, including two stories
  • Building D: programmed, designed, and constructed as a finished, fully operational building with an ambulatory surgical component
  • Provided HVAC, plumbing, life safety/alarm, data/telephone, and electrical infrastructure for the medical offices and support areas

Warren Library, Palm Beach Atlantic University

  • Mechanical & electrical design to convert a three-story structure into a telecommunications hotel
  • Gathered critical infrastructure data that supported TelePlace's decision to purchase the building
  • Developed the phasing scheme to open the facility within 2 months of purchase, with the data center running 4 months after purchase
  • Coordinated closely with the local utility and equipment vendors to meet the aggressive schedule
  • Full MEP and fire protection design for a 40,000 sf managed-services data center
  • Designed (3) 2.5 MW standby generators, 4160V distribution, and paralleling switchgear
  • MEP and fire protection design for a new 86,000 sf "Library of the Future", a high-tech, user-friendly campus "living room"
  • Phase I: central 4-story atrium with a cascading staircase to the second and third floors; computer study areas for individual and collaborative learning; most of the first floor raised to allow for future technology
  • Phase II: renovation of the historic 1933 octagonal chapel into a rotunda reading room with an atrium design
  • Design for a new Central Energy Plant (CEP), Utilities Building, and renovation of an existing 61,000 sf building at the Airport Hilton Center on Australian Avenue
  • Renovated and upgraded existing space to accommodate relocated County functions, equipment, and personnel
  • CEP designed to meet current cooling needs and be readily expandable for a future 175,000 sf building (designed but not constructed, due to budget constraints)
  • Renovation scope: demolition of existing partitions, spatial renovations, and infrastructure upgrades (HVAC, electrical power, lighting, data, security, and life safety)
